Semi Permanent Eyebrows

This popular cosmetic procedure is used for a variety of reasons. For some, the perfect shaped eyebrow needs a little help. For others, years of over plucking have caused the eyebrows to become thin or patchy.

Prior to any actual ‘tattooing’ Charmaine carries out a full consultation process, during which the shape and style of the eyebrows are designed and drawn onto your face.

When you book your procedure you will be sent a patch test and full consultation forms to fill out and should there be any reaction to the patch test or contraindications from the medical form then you should contact the salon immediately to discuss.

Your safety is our priority over anything else and the procedure is carried out in a certified clinical environment using only the very best equipment, pigments and techniques.

Although this is a form of tattooing, semi permanent eyebrows are much less uncomfortable than having a traditional tattoo. The needles are much finer, and the pigment isn’t implanted to the same depth.

Most clients report feeling some slight pressure applied.

When you book your appointment, you will be advised to arrive 30 minutes prior to the procedure time so we can apply a topical numbing cream that will minimise pain and discomfort.

Full aftercare information is given to you to study prior to the treatment with your patch test and verbally advised on the day too.

Immediately after the treatment the skin may feel sensitive and look a little red which will settle in a matter of hours. Infection is a risk, but our methods are safe and our environment is sterile, so the chance is very low.

Each set of brows is designed specifically to suit each individual client. There is no “standard template selection” to choose from and we create natural looking eyebrows that will work to frame the eyes and accentuate the overall look of the face.

The results fade gradually over 2-3 years, with a “colour boost” recommended around 12-18 months after the initial application – to maintain a fresh look.

When you arrive you will be greeted by our salon staff and made comfortable with complimentary hot and cold refreshments whilst your numbing cream does it’s work, to ensure that the procedure is as painless as possible.

Charmaine will start with a thorough consultation where she will discuss your desired look and see whether your brows need reshaping, filling in, lifting, thickening or defining.

It’s a good idea to bring any photos or magazine clippings of the look you would like to achieve. The semi permanent makeup treatment will commence with the creation of a template drawn onto the skin with a cosmetic pencil to get the shape and style right before any actual pigment is applied.

Once you are 100% happy with this template we will proceed to anaesthetise the skin. We will then allow the anaesthetic to take full effect whilst deciding on the perfect colour pigment to use in order to compliment your colourings.

To help with pain management we will regularly apply more anaesthetic throughout the treatment to allow you comfort.

The treatment lasts between 1.5 – 2 hours and after the semi-permanent eyebrow treatment we will then give you full aftercare advice and arrange the date for you to come back for your top up 4-6 weeks later.

Treatments are carried out from Charmaine’s high-end cosmetic salon Beau Boutique located in Ashford Kent. Following a fully customised refurbishment of the beautiful Old Barn at Evegate, every inch of the salon has been designed to offer clients the best experience possible. The salon is easily accessible either by car from the M20 motorway or the London to Ashford high-speed train. There is plenty of free parking too as well as boutique shops tea-rooms and eateries surrounding the barn.

To ensure that your bespoke brows continue to look their best, we recommend that you have a colour boost treatment every 12 – 18 months in order to maintain your semi-permanent makeup.

Unlike a traditional tattoo which uses ink, the SPMU needles use pigment which doesn’t go as deep into the skin of the face. The reason for this is because the colour would simply blur and you would loose all definition.

For your initial procedure of SPMU, you’ll recall that two treatments were required four weeks apart in order for the pigment to take and to give you the perfect finished look.

However, for an SPMU colour boost, only a single treatment is needed in order to reinstate the freshness of your initial procedure and keep those brows looking on-point and as effortlessly elegant as they have been since your initial procedure.

Depending on how the pigment has settled into your skin, you will probably be ready for a semi-permanent makeup colour boost somewhere between every 12 to 18 months in order to maintain the colour and definition. See below colour boost prices.
