Although we provide this treatment all year round, the Autumn is the most popular time for our clients to start a course of Lumecca treatments because of the change in weather as it is easier to stay out of the sun. We do advise that you follow a good skincare routine anyway and always use a factor 50 SPF to prolong and support the ongoing results.

Lumecca is an intense pulsed light (IPL) device that uses light energy to destroy unwanted pigment in the skin. The treatment starts working immediately, and you should see improved skin over the coming days. Brown spots may appear darker at first, but will then flake off. Lumecca can address a variety of skin issues, including (but not limited to): hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, rosacea, and acne scars.

Lumecca is a non-invasive treatment that doesn’t require incisions or anaesthesia. Lumecca IPL is not generally described as a painful treatment. Most patients report feeling a mild tingling while the procedure is being carried out, with a prickly sensation occurring when the light flashes. At your initial in-clinic consultation you will have a thorough skin analysis as well as a patch test prior to any course of treatment being prescribed.
