The VI Peel is a medium-strength, medical-grade chemical peel that minimises signs of sun damage and ageing. This includes fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin texture and tone.
Glowing, healthy skin is one of the key components of beauty. People of all ages are increasingly turning to skin resurfacing treatments to erase blemishes and repair damage done by UV radiation and environmental toxins.
At Beau Boutique, we provide a wide range of powerful and clinical yet gentle and nourishing skin treatments including the ZO range of skincare products, the lumecca IPL and the Medik8 peels to name a few.
One of the effective skin treatments we offer is called the Vi Peel, which treats hyper-pigmentation in the skin.
The Vi Peel is specifically engineered to reduce and even reverse the visible signs of aging and sun damage so you will also notice a marked improvement in the clarity, tone, and texture of the skin while enjoying a more radiant and youthful appearance.
Unlike conventional chemical peels, the Vi Peel doesn’t “burn away” the uppermost layer of the skin; instead, it exfoliates the epidermis to encourage the natural shedding of dead and damaged cells.
This gentle approach reduces discomfort, speeds recovery, and makes the Vi Peel suitable for use on all skin types, including dark skin.
The Vi Peel is so gentle that it can even be used safely on the area under the eyes, where it works to improve skin firmness, lighten dark circles, and remove fine lines.
For the week leading up to your treatment, you’ll be asked to stop using prescription retinoids as well as any products that contain alpha hydroxy acids, like glycolic acid; beta hydroxy acids, like salicylic acid; or benzoyl peroxide.
The results of a single Vi Peel treatment remain visible for at least six months. After six months have passed, we recommend having a follow-up treatment to maintain flawless skin tone and texture.
Repeated dermal peel treatments also ensure consistent collagen production, thereby preventing the formation of new lines, creases, and textural problems.
For more comprehensive rejuvenation, you can choose to pair your Vi Peel with complementary non-surgical treatments, like dermal fillers.
Note that not all of the results of your peel will be visible immediately after your skin has finished peeling. C
ontinued improvements in skin condition are generally seen to for up to six weeks after each treatment.
It contains a blend of powerful ingredients that work synergistically to create smoother, younger looking skin.
Vi Peels have been formulated using a combination of trichloracetic acid, salicylic acid, phenol, retinoic acid, kojic acid, L-ascorbic acid, hydroquinone, benzoyl peroxide, hydrocortisone, and a mineral blend.
Before the Vi Peel the deeper the peel, the more painful, the more downtime, the better the results.
The VI Peel is the first peel to combine the strongest and most effective acids, yet it’s virtually painless with little downtime.
A single Vi Peel will achieve significant repair and add a healthy glow to the skin.
Some conditions like acne scars, pore enlargement and hyper pigmentation might require multiple applications.
It is a restorative and painless repair of damaged skin, including sun damage and acne.
Best of all, it is a true aging preventative for younger skin with no visible damage.
The many innovations that created the Vi Peel combine to allow ALL skin types to enjoy the benefits of the peel.
For the first time, African-American and darker skin types such as Asian and Latin patients can experience anti-aging and restorative skin repair previously unavailable.
Not really. You will feel a slight stinging sensation for a few seconds which subsides almost immediately.
The peel is applied topically, and numbing of the skin takes place after the first pass. Some patients may feel more comfortable using a fan or cold air breeze.
The skin peeling associated with the Vi Peel is a light, fluffy peel that will start on day three and generally be finished by the end of day four.
The peeling is easily hidden by moisturizer. In some cases, the peel is virtually invisible.
Patients using Retin A may experience heavier peeling.
The peel can be modulated by your skin care provider to produce a deeper, more aggressive peel, if necessary, depending on your skin condition.
We recommend avoiding heavy sweating for the first few days after the peel. Normal activities can be resumed immediately after the peel.
About five hours after you return home from your Vi Peel appointment, you’ll be able to wash off the face mask that was applied during your treatment.
Within two days, you will start to notice light peeling and flaking as dead skin cells are shed; however, soreness and irritation are not common side-effects of the Vi Peel.
After about six days, your skin will stop flaking and you’ll notice a new layer of clear, smooth skin forming.
Downtime is not necessary for most patients having this treatment, but some people prefer to take a few days off of work for cosmetic reasons.
For several weeks after each treatment, you will need to carefully avoid exposure to UV radiation (healing skin is more vulnerable to sun damage).
Use a medical-grade sunscreen (we stock these) every time you go outside, even if it’s overcast, and use a wide-brimmed hat for added protection.
The Vi Peel tackles skin problems at the cellular level rather than just burning skin off.
Thanks to the concerted actions of its many acids and vitamins, it will help erase fine lines and wrinkles, shrink enlarged pores and build collagen and elastin which tighten skin.
It is extremely effective in reducing or eliminating hyper pigmentation including melasma, the most difficult pigmentation issue to correct.
The Vi Peel also provides excellent results for acne.
